Built To Spill reschedule fall dates, because guitar-aholics just can't live without guitar-ahol

It’s a hard time to be a distorted electric guitar-a-holic these days, especially when it pertains to pop music. I mean, let’s face it: Foo Fighters are now U2-terrible, Radiohead now consists of Thom Yorke’s falsetto and Jonny Greenwood’s baton, and all the young guns are using, I dunno, “pitch-shifted samples of roaring lions” or some shit in place of guitars in their songs.

But luckily for us addicts, that’s probably exactly why Doug Martsch and his pals in ye olde faithful indie rock juggernaut Built to Spill understand how valuable it is that they keep on hitting the road for you year after year after year. No new album to tour on, specifically? Psshhht. No problem! Cancelled dates? You can be DAMN SURE they’re gonna make them up. They don’t want to leave us hangin’ high and dry or anything.

Case in point, the band has just confirmed a “handful of rescheduled tour dates which had been previously postponed.” And while, no, they haven’t released anything new since 2015’s Untethered Moon — which was produced by Martsch and Sam Coomes (of Quasi) and recorded with Martsch on every-guitar-ever and new band members Steve Gere on drums and Jason Albertini on bass — they assure us that they’ve been “working on new material” and will once again tour as a trio consisting of Martsch (guitars, vocals), Steve Gere (drums) and Jason Albertini (bass). So, there’ll probably be some new brawny, triple-rectifier jams to soothe the frayed nerve endings of fiending guitar-junkies everywhere.
