Cibo Matto announce reunion tour and new album, proving that every band will eventually reunite, even The Smiths

No band is immune to reuniting. If Cibo Matto can randomly decide to work on new music and play new shows after reuniting to play several benefit concerts to help Japan’s disaster relief back in March, what chance do The Smiths stand? Although he likes to be dramatic and state that The Smiths wouldn’t even reunite for $5 million, I think all it would take for Morrissey to cave is a good ol’ fashioned headlining spot for a disaster benefit show, and the promise that he’s allowed to take his shirt off, even if Johnny Marr is so not into it. Good thing Judgment Day is quickly approaching. Perhaps The Smiths can hitch their reunion wagon to that impending disaster?

Meanwhile, Cibo Matto will be avoiding the rapture by working on a follow-up to 1999’s Stereo ★ Type A that is supposedly due out in 2012 — you know, if we all live that long. They will also be touring later this summer, so brush up on your food-related song lyrics.
