Corin Tucker announces new record Kill My Blues, stars in sketch comedy program Tucsonia, whoops, that last bit was from my dream journal

Guys, I had the strangest dream last night. I’m standing in a field of infinite light and also infinite grain. Suddenly, I feel a tapping on my shoulder. I turn around just as suddenly and who do I see but Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney fame. As I begin to speak, she puts her whole hand (which is crazy gigantic in my dream) around my head. While her giant, guitar-wrecking hand is slowly crushing my skull, she tells me that she has a new television show. Emboldened by Carrie Brownstein’s success with Portlandia, she has created her own sketch comedy program with Andy Samberg. It’s called Tucsonia and it’s coming to AMC this fall. Then she crushes my skull. Then I wake up, but I’m in my childhood bedroom and I’m wearing a tuxedo. Then I wake up and I’m in my actual bedroom.

It was all a beautiful dream. Corin Tucker releasing a new full-length record, however, is absolutely not a dream. Pitchfork reports that Kill Rock Stars will be putting out Tucker’s new record Kill My Blues on September 18. Word has it that the record will find her “returning to her riot grrrl sonic roots” which [EDITORIALIZING] SOUNDS AWESOME [END OF MY EDITORIALIZING]. All that riot grrrl revitalizing was written with the help of her band, the likes of which include Sara Lund of Unwound, Mike Clark of Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, and Seth Lorinczi of Golden Bears. They’re a band so tight, they’ll even go on tour this September. Because that’s what they’re doing. They’re going on tour. This September.
