Daniel Menche prepping double-LP Guts for Editions Mego in January, so take cover!

Soundsmith and high school librarian Daniel Menche intends to start 2012 off with a bang — a destructive, explosive bang of apocalyptic proportion. Menche’s new double-LP Guts will be out on January 10 via Editions Mego (preorder here) and features his latest onslaught of soundwork, this time on a prepared piano, or as the label puts it, “unprepared piano for an all out assault.” The cover artwork features an X-ray image of a chihuahua named Arrow, in case you were wondering.

Shortly after the release of Guts, Menche will unleash his Quanta of Light 12-inch for Touch Music’s “White Label Vinyl Series” in early 2012.

What’s that? Impatient? Want some action right now? Okay, well, still fresh off the presses is The Torrid by Anla Courtis, who is most known for his work with Argentinian masterminds Reynols. Torrid features collaborations with some notable experimental musicians such as Menche, as well as Bill Horist, Armpit, and many more. So there, run along now.
