Deerhoof tour North America for college kids and morose, out-of-shape, debt-stricken, child-laden kids

Wow, everybody, let’s hear it for The Deerhooves. Those hardworking motherfuckers are always out there sweating it out on the ol’ dusty tour trail. And you know what? Sure, sometimes its because there’s an “album” they’re “pushing,” a “product” they’re “marketing” or whatever else you want to stick annoying quotes around (as they certainly did with 2011’s Deerhoof Vs. Evil). But SOMETIMES, ladies and gentlemen, sometimes they just get out there and tour for the sheer fucking THRILL of bein’ out there on the road, playing out-of-sight music for eager college kids; mildly-optimistic, out-of-college kids; and morose, out-of-shape, debt-stricken, child-laden, way-out-of-college kids. And guys, you’ll never guess what! This is one of those times.

Yup. Deerhoof is hitting the road this fall in support of absolutely nothing. Which is, now that I think about it, another way of saying that they’re hitting the road in support of absolutely anything at all! So, just take your pick of what you want them to be touring in support of, and (I assume) they’ll support it. Interested in world peace? Boom. World Piece tour. Are you a fan of Breaking Bad?? Cool, because Deerhoof is touring in support of Brian Cranston. Do you like Apple Computers? Well you’re in luck, because Deerhoof is coming to your town to promote them. And so on and so on. In fact, the only real danger here is if the thing that you you like is actually Deerhoof. Because no matter how harmless it sounds, Deerhoof can’t tour in support of Deerhoof without starting an endless feedback loop and ripping the fabric of the universe apart, ending all of existence for all space and matter and time for ever and ever in the blink of an eye. So yeah, if you just like Deerhoof, stay home.
