What’s a young footwork-loving parent to do on the occasion of a new LP from DJ Earl? Having never actually been a parent, I can’t say with any certainty. However, as someone who likes to make diaper jokes, I’d say that the first thing one ought to do is live. That’s right, just keep on doing that whole living thing you resumed doing this morning when you woke up. Try to do it until you go to bed tonight, even! Once you’ve got that mastered, you can move on to step two: learn. In this step, you can learn all sorts of things. Perhaps about some previous DJ Earl releases, or maybe about different coffee-grinding techniques.
Since you probably knew where this was going since the beginning of this story, I’ll go ahead and spill the beans about step three. In step three, instead of buying diapers, you can just swap all that book learning you did in step two into some good old-fashioned love for footwork and for babies. It’s as simple that. Live, love, Teklife… possibly babies. Which, incidentally, is also the name of the newly released LP from DJ Earl: Live Love Teklife, which is embedded below. Earl says it was inspired by all of his recent travels, a claim that you can now evaluate for yourself, what with all that learning you did in step two of my joke above. He’s going to keep on traveling too; peep the dates to see if he’s coming close to your house.
