The Eargoggle’s latest full-length The Beautiful Creatures Really Are So Cruel is coming to terrorize us all THIS FRIDAY on Very Special Recordings

A key player in the thriving Brooklyn underground music community for years now, founder of afrobeat ensemble Aphrodesia, lynchpin of jazz-dubbers Super Hi-Fi, and former student of Yusef Lateef; Ezra Gale has that rare curious versatility as a musician that is both admirable and maddeningly envy-producing. It boggles the mind. In fact, it GOGGLES THE EAR, if you know what I mean. If not, you will in three…two…one…

The Eargoggle is Gale’s personal shape-shifting musical outlet, and he has a new full-length called The Beautiful Creatures Really Are So Cruel coming out on November 17 through his own Very Special Recordings imprint (cuz, oh yeah: he does that too). Weighing in at 19 tracks and featuring savvy support from Jason Slota (drums, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down), Bram Kincheloe (drums, Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds), and Erica Gale (vocals), the album reflects its creator, never treading the same musical floorboards from track to track to track (repeat 16 more times).

Check out the album’s great, Stefan Zeniuk-directed, stop-motion video down below — and pre-order The Beautiful Creatures Really Are So Cruel on 180 gram digital download and/or limited-to-100-edition cassette here.
