GOLD release emoji-heavy (also just plain heavy) video for upcoming album on Profound Lore

Described (wonderfully) as a “dark rock, post-everything band,” GOLD consists of guitarist Thomas Sciarone (ex-The Devil’s Blood), vocalist Milena Eva, guitarist Nick Polak, bassist Tim Meijer, and drummer Igor Wouters. Their press release informs us that “Their mission statement was to play a distinct form of heavy rock as a monument to civilization’s decline.” They’re based out of the Netherlands, which is too bad because they seem like people who you’d invite over for a board game night, and then they spend the whole evening spelling words like “hegemony,” “poststructuralism,” and “decline.” I’d like to play Scrabble with those people.

But this isn’t a Scrabble blog; it’s a music blog! And GOLD’s new album No Image is coming out November 6 via Profound Lore. It was recorded/mixed by Jeff Zeigler (Kurt Vile, The War On Drugs, Nothing) and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Yob, Bell Witch, Sunn O))), Leviathan).

If you like music videos, here’s one for you to watch for their song “Servant.”
