Grimes confirms Art Angels release dates, kills two birds with one new music video

And so the steady drip of Grimes-related press releases continues, but at least this time, satisfaction is in order for those paradoxically awaiting at least one album-related “surprise.”

Surprise! In an astounding demonstration of calendrical power that was previously thought to be collectively limited to the town of Springfield, Grimes has turned October into November and revealed the official digital (and physical) release date for her new album via 4AD, Art Angels. November 6 is the replacement for what was previously a deliberately unspecified October date, and ahead of the release (wait until December 11 for the physical version), the relatively newfound Angeleno has also unveiled a self-directed video for “Flesh Without Blood”/”Life in the Vivid Dream,” the first non-“Realiti” tracks off the album to be officially delivered to our ear holes. Just forget all of that prior stuff about absolutely no anticipatory singles; May 2015 was basically just an extended April Fools in terms of important music news. Sorry for the late notice.

And the tracklisting! And a Janelle Monáe guest spot on the track “Venus Fly”! Grimes’s rebellion against The Man of apparel in the following aforementioned vid was somehow more expected than either of those things:
