Hopscotch 2015 lineup announced, which includes GY!BE, TV on the Radio, Prurient, Lawrence English, and maybe like one or two other bands

Hot diggity-dog! What a SCOOP! When last we left this epic story of tragicomic “experimental” music-festivalship amidst these trying times of war, poverty, and canine flu, we were telling you all about how “experimental” music-maker Owen “Owen Pallett” Pallett had just been selected as this year’s honored “improviser in residence” for the whole “experimental” shebang. Pretty cool news to be sure, but NOW we’ve just gotten word that the official full lineup for the event has been announced over at the Hopscotch website!!! Boo-yah! Time for us to swoop in like the vultures we are and, ya know, basically re-tell you all about it. Here it comes, folks:

This year’s fest is taking place September 10-12 in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina and will feature “over 140” bands playing every-which-where from a “large outdoor main stage in Raleigh City Plaza to intimate club shows” running the gamut of “almost every genre imaginable.” Yup! BOTH rap AND rock & roll!

The headliners include Godspeed You! Black Emperor, TV on the Radio, and Dwight Yoakam, as well as the likes of Deerhunter, Battles, Owen Pallett, Pusha T, Tycho, Roky Erikson, Prurient, Lawrence English, and more (See? Rap AND rock & roll!) Because the INTERNET is a thing, you can check out the complete schedule and lineup at the Hopscotch site right now! And you can also help yourself to some tickets there while you’re at it. VIP and 3-day passes are on sale now, and other, less-awesome ticket options will be available for purchase in June. Although, come on, now. You don’t want to get caught consuming anything that’s less than optimally awesome, now do you?
