Hunter Hunt-Hendrix (Liturgy) announces Kel Valhaal project, album out next month

Hunter Hunt-Hendrix, of the polarizing transcendental black metal ensemble Liturgy, has announced a solo electronic project under the name Kel Valhaal. The album is titled New Introductory Lectures On The System Of Transcendental Qabala and will be released July 15 via Hunt-Hendrix’s own label YLYLCYN. It is currently available for preorder here, while the album’s single “Tense Stage” can be heard below.

With this project, Hunt-Hendrix intends to take up the same philosophical and musical themes as he did in Liturgy, whose masterpiece Aesthethica continues to reign as one of the great metal albums of the past decade. The musician aims with his ambitious new project to “activate transcendental catharsis using the elements of sound design, and to gnaw on formal and cultural deadlocks between electronic music, rock, rap and classical music. Ultimately these are means of activating a creative-emotive state of divine intuition that is attuned to the object of ultimate concern: what the mystics call the ‘gift of tears.’”

New Introductory Lectures On The System Of Transcendental Qabala tracklisting:

01. Mea Culpa
02. Tense Stage
03. NMWE
04. Ontological Love
05. Kairos
06. Bezel
07. Bezel II
