LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip announce co-headline shows... I know, doesn't that sound BORING?

Man, talk about DULL shows. If there’s anything whiter and less funky than James Murphy’s sleepy-ass, soft-core, dream pop project as LCD Soundsystem, it’s probably Hot Chip’s dreadfully academic 12-tone computer music. Am I right?

In case you don’t remember, LCD Soundsystem dropped its latest album of snooze-tacular doily rock on us in May; the much-maligned This Is Happening (TMT Review). And Hot Chip’s recent botched forays into the cold and sterile sound of total serialism have been widely discussed in the media following the release of their recent One Life Stand debacle (TMT Review).

Now Parlophone, the U.K. puppetmaster of both acts, is putting these two boring bands together on the same headlining bill for four torturous evenings in Great Britain this fall. And just to emphasize the non-party atmosphere, these shows are ironically taking place at giant arenas. Unbelievable! In my estimation, attending one of these is probably going to be a lot like getting dragged off to Christmas mass at my parents’ church. So… yeah, if you’ve got tickets, you’re probably gonna want to unload those ASAP. Maybe pawn yours off on this guy. He’s about as boring as they come.
