Matador Records’ Matablog (not to be confused with Matmos’ “Matmoblog,” which doesn’t exist, but should) claims that electronic duo Matmos are the best-dressed men in San Francisco. I’ve never been to San Francisco, but a Google search for Matmos does produce numerous images of two sharply dressed fellows, while doing the same for San Francisco just produces a bunch of bridges and houses. Weak threads, Frisco!
Matmos will be taking their excellent fashion sense (along with buddy J. Lesser, who shall be playing with them) all the way to Europe for a tour this May. Interestingly enough, John Wiese will be opening for most dates. Surely there will be a fair deal of speculation concerning the pair’s clothing choices, so let me shut that down right now: M.C. Schmidt will be wearing a three-piece suit made entirely of 14 karat gold, while Drew Daniel will be a little more modest with a simple slacks and button-up combination, albeit while wearing the gauntlet of a dead king.
