Japanese noise-grind-prog-core outfit Melt-Banana have a big announcement, but you have to slow it down 100x to understand it. Get ready for an entirely new onslaught of genre- and mind-bending maniacal mayhem.

The hyperactive oddballs, who still use GeoCities for their website because they just don’t give a fuck, have been touring as a duo since last summer, and they’ll do the same for their “2 do what 2 fetch” tour in support of the album.

Dean Blunt unexpectedly drops new album Stone Island in Russia, available to DL and stream now

Just a few hours ago, I posted a track from Dean Blunt that I thought was called “King James,” but I also speculated that, after scanning the MP3’s tags, it could be track #3 of a release called Island of Stone. Well, thanks to TMT reader Vinícius Ortolano, I’m happy to report that I was partially correct! The track is actually called “Three” (at least in the context of this Russian release) and, according to Russian website Афиша, is off a new 10-track Dean Blunt album called Stone Island. The best part? It’s already out.

The album, a thematic and aesthetic continuation of the issues he introduced on The Redeemer, was recorded in full in a Moscow hotel room last week. Stream it here:

The album is available for download here too, but you may encounter problems extracting due to how the files are named. If that’s the case, try here or here.

Seriously, aren’t we lucky to have an artist like Dean Blunt in our lives?

Stone Island tracklist:

01. One
02. Two
03. Three
04. Four
05. Five
06. Six
07. Stone Island
08. Eight
09. Heat (feat. Joanne Robertson)
10. Ten

Ahnnu announces new album World Music on Leaving Records, featuring remixes by Andrew Pekler, Matthewdavid, and more

Looks like Ahnnu is back in full force! After having just released two new non-album tracks via SoundCloud — “Kazu” and “Pe5” — the L.A. producer (a.k.a. Leland Jackson a.k.a. cakedog) has dropped details about his latest release. It’s titled World Music, and it features 12 new tracks + 5 remixes by the likes of Andrew Pekler (who, by the way, released one of our favorite albums this year), Matthewdavid, Nerftoss, and more. Here’s what Ahnnu had to say about the release:

World Music introduces a series of themes which represent various styles and likenesses I’ve adopted in my growth as a sound artist living in the digital age. In respect to my environment, I wanted to create a body of sound-work that is transient in nature. Each track was arranged as separate entities and are holistic in the sense that they are intended to inspire an experience of indifference within a space of perpetual sonic motion. “World Music” describes the continuous sensory shift of both meditative neglect and cognitive sophistication when active within a (digitally) connected culture.

Love it! World Music is out September 3 on Leaving Records. Pour yourself some scotchka and check out album track “Shame” here:

World Music tracklist:

01. Gala
02. Shame
03. Solo
04. Ghille in the Mist
05. Relative Research
06. Ballast
07. Non2
08. Reversology

Unless you’ve already got other plans, here’s what TMT urges you to do the second you’re off work tonight: hit up Walgreens. Grab dem bath beads. Grab dem supreme pizza. Grab whatever’s on tap at the pharmacy. Run home with a bag dangling from each arm. Smell like flop sweat when you come through the door. Sit in front of a box fan. Let the sweat-salt settle into your crevices.

Now it’s time — 8 PM PST to be exact — to step into the tub, drop trou, and log into Alex Gray a.k.a. DJ/PURPLE/IMAGE’s first-ever CHANCEIMAG.es Ustream wwwBROADCAST, where you’ll be treated to unique vibrations in real-time, using a combination of ultrasonics, echolocation, and microrepetition that will lather you up hands-free and brush past your erogenous zones in ways that evoke other times and places. This live-stream installment is called “FRESH ROSES” (implying more installments in the future!) and promises “ALL original videos/sounds by D/P/I” in addition to the fiddling going on below the water. See you there!

Yuck puke up new album details, vomit new single, then totally start licking both!

Guys, this is God. Your lord. Hello there! I just wanted to float down from heaven on this awesome white cloud here to bestow upon all you adorable little mortals the exciting news that the rock band Yuck, which you all loved so much back in 2011, is coming back a second time (sounds kinda like a certain son of mine! LOL!) with their second album on September 30 in the UK and October 1 in the US (via Fat Possum/Pharmacy). I totally decree that it shall be called Glow and Behold and, because I say so, will be available on both CD and white vinyl. I like the color white a quite lot; what can I tell you?

Anyway, here’s a few things that you should know. My man Chris Coady produced it, and guitarist Max Bloom is now in charge of the whole outfit (former frontman Daniel Blumberg was getting just a little too curious about the difference between good and evil, so I kinda had to banish him to experimental solo project status). So yes, as you could maybe tell from the first single they released earlier this year, the band does sound a little bit different than before. But be not afraid! It’s still rock ‘n’ roll, and you folks are gonna enjoy the heckaroony out of it (Monday through Saturday only, of course!). Heck, I’ll tell you what; because I’m pretty much THE MAN (they pretty much just call me “I Am Who I Am” upstairs; isn’t that, like, Tarantino-rad?), I’ll bestow another single from the album on you. This one’s called “Middle Sea.” Do you get it? Oh, and don’t worry; I’ll also make it so that you can preorder the whole album over at the Fat Possum website… right… about… now.

Glow & Behold tracklisting:

01. Sunrise in Maple Shade
02. Out of Time
03. Lose My Breath
04. Memorial Fields
05. Middle Sea
06. Rebirth
07. Somewhere
08. Nothing New
09. How Does It Feel
10. Twilight in Maple Shade (Chinese Cymbals)
11. Glow & Behold

The Belbury Circle and John Foxx announce new EP on Ghost Box; ghosts are real and many of them are my friends

Are you tired of your one friend always scoffing when someone says, “Hey, you guys, I think I feel a presence in this room and it really wants us to watch The Big Lebowski instead of Reservoir Dogs,” during movie nights? Or are you just sick to death of having to go through the whole runaround every time you tell that friend about the translucent figure you accidentally made eye contact with in the bathroom during lunch? Well worry no more, because Ghost Box Records has yet again announced plans to loose its titular box of ghosts upon the music-listening public, effectively rendering all discussions of whether ghosts are “actually a thing” moot. This time they’ve got Empty Avenues from The Belbury Circle and John Foxx on offer.

First announced back in late June, Empty Avenues is the debut collaboration of Jim Jupp of Belbury Poly and Jon Brooks of The Advisory Circle as The Belbury Circle, and they’re joined on vocals by the eminent John Foxx (Foxx began as the lead vocalist for Ultravox, though he left that group in 1979 and has since created all manner of synth-oriented music with a wide cast of partners). Empty Avenues is out September 6 on CD and 10-inch vinyl (with different artwork for each format), though you can preorder it now. The EP features six total tracks, one of which is a remix of the title track by Pye Corner Audio. If you’re super anxious to get your friend to quit ruining social gatherings with his naysaying about ghosts and their scientifically verifiable capacity to haunt, you can check out a preview of three of the EP’s tracks below.

Empty Avenues tracklisting:

01. Empty Avenues
02. Almost There
03. The Right Path
04. Suit
05. Time of Your Life
06. Empty Avenues and Dark Corners (Pye Corner Audio Mix)
