Morrissey to charm his way across America on fall tour

Ready your nosegays and dust off your pomade, Morrissey fans! The Oscar Wilde of indie pop is making a triumphant return to US shores this fall, for an epic 33-city tour of venues from Reno to Atlantic City, from Los Angeles to New York, from North Bethesda to Pharr, TX, a wee town mere miles from the Mexican border. The maestro of miserable is rumored (by himself, natch) to be retiring from the tour circuit in two years — at least according to this Billboard story on an interview with another website, JuiceOnline.com. Morrissey! Say it ain’t so! What will happen to America’s thriving daffodil industry? Your fans (and people who forget to buy Mother’s Day gifts till the night before) are the only thing keeping it afloat!

So, my friends, toss those daffs on stage with extra fervor this time around. And don’t forget to wish your favorite Smiths vocalist an unhappy birthday; after all, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the formation of that famed Mancunian ensemble. And while Moz promises to sing hits both old, new, and as-yet-unreleased, that Smiths reunion is still just a dream dreamt by a Russian cosmonaut dog in an endlessly repeating loop of the past somewhere on God’s tape recorder. But hey Los Angeles-based fans, take note; in the spirit of the late-70s, you’re gonna want to throw in some shady doctors and weird vitamin shots to your pile of hair products and flowers. Because, on November 24, you’ll be spending a very, very special night with Morrissey… and Iggy & The Stooges. With a tour as extensive as this one, heaven knows none of us are miserable now. (Except for maybe Canada.)
