OG Maco signs to Motown/Capitol for debut LP, and just like THAT, the recording industry is saved!

In the paraphrased words of those incomparable teenage mutant ninja turtles: “Yes, dudes and dudettes! Major label butt-kicking is back in town!” According to a recent post by XXL, yours and my favorite grimy, grindy, gnarly Atlanta hip-hop wonderguy OG Maco has officially “sold out” to the majors! Wait… there are still majors? Hang on, let me just make sure… Oh, yup! Apparently there are still one or two majors!

And one of those one or two majors is Capitol. Apparently OG’s label Quality Control did themselves a dance with the devil recently and signed a “new joint venture with Capitol Music Group and Motown Records” whereby “QCM artists will be worked on by Motown and other divisions within CMG.” And the first fruits of this new rosy partnership? Boom: Maco’s debut LP, Children Of The Rage, which is due out before the end of 2015. Ah, it’s all just like some beautiful fairy tale! I don’t want to oversell the importance of this deal, but I’d say that Music is officially BACK ON TRACK FOREVER. Don’t you think?

But like any good piece of news, the REAL question remains: has anyone officially authenticated it by Tweeting about it?? Hang on, let me just make sure… Oh, yup! Apparently XXL has, and so did Motown. And so did whatshisname! Quality Control probably did too, for that matter, but I’m kinda not into scrolling down that far right now. You know what I mean?
