Pitchfork Music Festival pulls back a consecutive curtain; full lineup includes DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn, Majical Cloudz, St. Vincent, Danny Brown, Kelela, and more

As expected, the full (as opposed to partial) lineup for the 2014 Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago has now been revealed. Apparently the people behind festivals like to release their lineups in gradual iterations so that publications like us are forced to report on each announcement for sake of max exposure, and because they naturally like to emphasize their headliners, who presumably take priority when it comes to initial booking. In this case, a scheduled performance from Jeff Mangum and his lactose-tolerant bandmates would’ve been more than enough to motivate the spectacled masses into Union Park, but in case of any remaining fence-straddlers…

What/whom you might not have known about Pitchfork Music Festival 2014: It includes Friday performances from Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks, SZA, Hundred Waters, and Isaiah Rashad. The Saturday schedule has been appended to include performances from Danny Brown, The Field, Kelela, Cloud Nothings, St. Vincent, FKA Twigs, Empress Of, and Twin Peaks. And Sunday! When fatigue, as opposed to the recitation of gospels, will be the likely impulse to stay off your feet: Majical Cloudz will be there, along with DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn, Real Estate, Hudson Mohawke, Earl Sweatshirt, Schoolboy Q, Jon Hopkins, Dum Dum Girls, Perfect Pussy, Deafheaven, Mutual Benefit, and Speedy Ortiz.

I’ve never been, so I hereby delegate all qualitative judgments to our esteemed News Editor and forced-by-threat-of-feather-tickling festival attendee, Squeo. Look for the man donning a traditional press hat and messily eating a fudgsicle. He’s wiser than you’ll ever know. Tickets/passes available at the link below.
