Well, well, well! After doing jack-shit in the way of new products since 1991, look who comes ca-rawlin’ back to their earlier trendsetting business model of, you know, “releasing albums of new music, sometimes.” It started innocuously enough at the end of last year with the instant-classic EP1. Then the band moved on to the much more controversial and “highly-experimental” (—Mr P) EP2. And now, according to FACT, three older, balder, fatter versions of Pixies (and one new girl who isn’t even Kelly Deal!) have NOT ONLY gone and announced the digital and vinyl release of the conclusion to their epic trilogy, EP3 (available now over at their lil’ webstore), but also their plans to release a whole honest-to-god album (of songs!) called Indie Cindy on April 28!
“Wait a minute… Indie Cindy you say? That sounds like a song I’ve heard from them already!”
Well… yeah, that’s kinda because… it is. The “new album” is actually just gonna consist of all three of these EPs stuck together, available as a limited “2CD set with a 40-page hardback book” (in which the second disc is just some of the same shit again, but played live) and 180 gram double vinyl (sans live album). But I mean, come on. You couldn’t expect a band like Pixies to put too much work into this stuff. I mean, let’s face it. They are awfully busy, you know, thinkin’ up words that rhyme with one other.
