Primavera Sound 2017 lineup announced: Frank Ocean, Aphex Twin, Slayer, Solange, Bon Iver, Grace Jones

I’d given up on music festivals. I went to Pitchfork Music Festival for six or seven years, I’ve been to Lollapalooza and Summerfest, to LouFest, and as a grown man, I’ve more or less felt like I’ve seen it all. That is, until the 2017 Primavera Sound lineup dropped. Like, OK, let’s examine what is more or less a dream lineup here. Aphex Twin? Sold. Say no more.

But I dare to go further. Van Morrison? OK. The final run of Swans’ current configuration? Yes. Broken Social Scene reunion? Sure. Sleep? Um, what is happening here? Japandroids playing new music? I guess I would fit that in. Bon Iver? Seems fine. Death Grips… Angel Olsen… Royal Trux reunited?! SLAYER? Who tapped into my soul and created this infernal event? I’m out.

The festival will run from May 31 to June 4 next year. It will take place on two sites — the usual Parc del Fòrum site, as well as in the Raval neighbourhood, which will be the headquarters of the free program. Full-priced tickets will cost 175€ (about $185) until January 7 and can be found at Ticketmaster, Primavera Sound Portal, and La Botiga del Primavera Sound.
