If Trust’s most recent album Joyland was a full-on “hands in the air,” “buying drugs from shady dudes in the bathroom” gothic rave, this new remix of “Capitol” is walking back to your car with your friends as the sun first starts coming up: life-affirming, yearning, and just achingly lovely. The dudes of Brooklyn coldwave band Black Marble have really done some dark magick on their remix of this one. Says Mr. Trust himself Robert Alfons: “I teared up when I first heard their re-work of my song. It’s feels like that huge rush that creeps in when summer is ending. I think they’ve done something really special here.” End of summer, end of night.
And although summer will technically be on its way out once mid-September rolls around, Trust will keep you warm when they tour North America. Starting off in McAllen, TX, Alfons and co. are on the road through October, when the tour winds down in their hometown of Toronto.
