VIOLENCE announces new album Human Dust to Fertilize the Impotent Garden on PTP, apologizes in advance for putting a damper on your backyard barbecue

Listen up, world: it may be hard to accept in our frightening and polarizing times, but violence is never the answer—except, of course, in the case of Baltimore-bred visual artist and musician Olin Caprison’s brutal musical project VIOLENCE, which you can differentiate from the word meaning an act of aggression by the amount of capital letters it has. Coincidentally, VIOLENCE has a new album on the way called Human Dust to Fertilize the Impotent Garden (catchy!), and — befitting the unpredictable and chaotic nature of this particular moment in human history — it’s out at some point in July via PTP (i.e. “on or around July 31,” according to PTP’s Bandcamp). Capri-son? More like Capri-cious!

Here are some of the artist’s encouraging words to get you totally hyped for the new album:

The focus of Human Dust to Fertilize the Impotent Garden is the overwhelming quality of history’s perpetual occurrence. My palette consists of the shattered micro-architecture of an unprejudiced, undiscerning, cosmopolitan, anti-culture massive music archive…This music is a struggle. It is a struggle from within this anti-history vacuum, a struggle against the all-embracing, multicultural, ahistorical ecosystem of contemporary music that renders all hierarchies impotent and null.

On that note, let’s talk commercial product: the new album is available in cassette and “digital + T-shirt” formats — each of which include their own exclusive bonus track; or, if you happen to be one of those coastal elites everyone’s always yammering on about, you can snag both in a bundle at a slightly discounted price. Whichever path you choose, you can pre-order that path over at PTP’s Bandcamp. But don’t wait long, or history will march on without you.

In any case, you can check out the album’s full tracklist and stream the new song “Human Dust” below. But hurry! Do it before your body slowly degrades into the titular substance!
