In fact, the entire remainder of your life’s birthday wishes appears to have come at once — because Hip Hop DX have broken news that Yasiin Bey will be releasing a new Black Star album (being his duo with Talib Kweli)…produced by none other than Madlib…despite the fact that he announced that he would be retiring at the end of 2016.
Yes, friends; that’s a TRIFECTA!
The news was announced by Bey himself during a cameo he made at a Madlib DJ show in Colorado on February 11; there’s even evidence, thanks to an audience recording which was posted on YouTube…which was then converted to a grainy SoundCloud audio clip! So you know it’s 100% real.
Apart from that incontrovertible truth, there have been no other official announcements, but with news this good…let’s all just believe and rejoice…and listen/watch:
