Second weekend of Sasquatch! Music Festival canceled due to Pacific Northwesterners' aversion to camping

If you’re unconvinced of the notion that human beings are generally resistant to change, feel free to investigate the intriguing and occasionally fecal-stained lifestyle of AB/DLs, or you can look to Sasquatch! Music Festival’s first-ever second weekend, which had been scheduled to take place the weekend of July 4 this year at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA but is now canceled. The weekend had initially been added due to the perception that the traditionally Memorial Day weekend-only festival had reached “critical mass” in terms of overall demand for tickets, but apparently that demand wasn’t enough to buoy another weekend of performances, despite a lineup that was at least comparable in terms of quality. And you call yourselves music fans! (JK, I probably wasn’t gonna go either.)

Here’s a statement from Jeff Trisler, President of Live Nation Seattle:

The Sasquatch! community has spoken. They continue to support the traditional Memorial Day Weekend event with great enthusiasm. Unfortunately, the second weekend was not embraced. We felt it was better to cancel the new event now and give everyone time to make alternative plans for the Fourth of July weekend. Going forward, Sasquatch! Music Festival will be at the Gorge Amphitheatre on the weekend the fans want: Memorial Day Weekend only.

Refunds are available at the point of purchase. At least Kraftwerk’ll still be in the region around that time.
