♫♪  Lucrecia Dalt - “Esotro”

There’s a layer of darkness in everyone that’s so hard to chip at — unless one spark of negative energy sets it off in an instant — it remains sediment. Such a volatile bit of emotion, no? Then how is it to tinker around it, pacing in a memorized circle, entranced on the idea of snapping, yet wait: you must wait. “Esotro” by Lucrecia Dalt is that pensive waiting period.

Brooding beginning beat. Ticks both backward and beguiling. Vocals from Dalt as mutant as the confines of this darkness. “Esotro” witnesses the quickness of rage, but dwells within the transition into madness. Less about being angry, crazy, or pondering the normal. More about that split second something raises up within your body and mind.

Lucrecia Dalt has a new EP coming out October 27 on Other People (CEO Nicolas Jaar) — the follow-up her Syzygy (TMT Review) from last year — which includes first (Boiler Room debuted) single “Esotro.” The boiling point is about three minutes and 22 seconds, and available below:
