Riddance is the self-preservation one needs to move forward. Ride a bicycle is what we all remember, but nothing in a gained forward motion unless you can flip it. Same with cassettes and CDs and DVDs and records and video-game cartridges and VHS: if you can 360-degree spin something made into a Goliath that gave back to David before death, maybe we’d be able to set aside the aggressive game of “Me, me, me!” and provide a more meaningful “Us, y’all: we did it, like always!”
Case in point: when I hear the restructuring of sounds shaped to complete a train of thought by a singular train of thought (whether solo or group), it’s actually harder at that point to consider — and then reconsider — the fruits bared in appropriation of originality. To provide an exact example: UNDER OBSERVATION by MICRODEFORM (the newest release by PALE MASTER on cassette) is absolutely a refurbished bicycle, polished in a way that it had never been before, with grease in all the right places and enough Swiss to cheese the cream out ya beak.
