Bay Area hat-wearer, Ridgwell, recently started up his own imprint, Haju Tapes, which has been quietly releasing some good ol’ fashioned beat-tapes in small editions that sell out QUICK. And with the label’s fourth release, nothing’s changed with that formula.
PARKER JORDAN’s PARADISE is just that: paradise. Melodic, warbly lo-fi loops do the dance with snapping drums. Soul vocals cut in and out. Funky chops repeat to perfection. Dreams are dreamt. Things are things. And this is a good thing.
