Look for burning creepers

Late-night mining, torches scattered around, iron ore everywhere: On Music for Minecraft, Saros-FM channels composer C418 from/for the vaporous nether, smelting precious metals, collecting flint and steel. Pixels as far as the eyes can see. Cats on mountains. A golden pickaxe. BATTLE MODE.

In a minecart, the frame is gone. You’re completely in contact with it all. You’re in the scene, not just watching it anymore, and the sense of presence is overwhelming. That cobblestone whizzing by five inches below your foot is the real thing, the same stuff you walk on, it’s right there, so blurred you can’t focus on it, yet you can put your foot down and touch it anytime, and the whole thing, the whole experience, is never removed from immediate consciousness.

Pro tip: When mining, always make sure to have at least a half to a full stack of wood, iron ingots (or cobblestone), and coal or charcoal. This ensures you have a large renewable supply of tools and torches that takes up very little inventory. Just craft more as needed. For large sections of mining on many levels, move 4 spaces over. This might be a bit more dangerous, but it will save pickaxes.
