The latest digital only track from braeyden jae’s softest project, affection, is another excellent addition to the Inner Islands catalog. Gentle stream recordings pair with shimmering synths, as braeyden jae shows us how it’s done over this thirty-plus minute ambient journey. Affection came out at the tail end of 2017, but I’m finding it to be a stellar musical companion as the new year unfolds. Since the sun doesn’t rise until near 7:30, my commute to work is dark and often a little foggy or drizzly. This makes affection ideal for long, introspective walks as I head to my impersonal office cubicle. Whether walking, reading, meditating, or puttering around the house, this ambient gem is well worth the small asking price.
