Man, oh man. If there’s any art form out there that complements catchy, colorful, pocket-symphony-style, British jangle-pop better than STOP-MOTION ANIMATION, I’ve certainly never come across it (and I’m a brilliant genius and polymath who’s come across everything ever, so I know what I’m talking about).
Which is awesome news for fans of “London-based musical group” (bravo, Wikipedia) the High Llamas, who just issued a new album on Drag City called Here Come The Rattling Trees (a concept-album comprising “five views to the low-key ups and downs of the British middle class”) just last week.
And now, lo and behold, we’ve not only got a brand new video on our hands for the adorably breezy track “McKain James,” but said-video is a delightful stop-motion animation eyeball-feast. It was created by none other than TMT-BFF Elisa Ambrogio (of Magik Markers). And believe me, it’s got it all goin’ on. Choppy swirling flowers and shrubbery? CHECK. Smiling skeletons? CHECK.
