Chicago via Philly producer Krueger drops his club ready Marbled EP via Silverback Recordings this week, and TMT is lucky enough to premiere the remix from Sydney via Seoul’s Victoria Kim, who’s been making waves recently with his gritty yet clean-as-a-whistle club sound. Kim takes the original, increases the amount of vocal samples, adds some synths that feel familiar for those following Kim’s productions, and preserves the original intent of Krueger’s EP, for it to be as danceable as possible. Simplicity seems to be something important to both producers, though that is not to say the productions are not complicated. Both have a clear eye for what is danceable, and that is never sacrificed for tricks or more-than-necessary florishes in production. But most dance tracks that simply use lay out repetitive dance commands would get lost at sea. The remix of “Turnin” contains just enough detail to rise above the others. Krueger’s EP is out on July 24th, and Victoria Kim is currently on tour. Details below.
