Atlanta’s mighty The Coathangers dropped a new video for “Pefume” this week to coincide with their tour of Australia and New Zealand — which, as of this writing, is unfortunately almost over. Sorry. But the great news is that the video still exists!
“Perfume” is on the dreamier-pop end of the Coathangers repertoire, and the video (directed by Matt Odom) gives the band some suitably enigmatic, enchanting imagery to play off of — all obscured faces, sand, dry river beds, and smoggy sunsets. It lends a little sense of mystery to a band perhaps better known for rocking hard (which they, of course, continue to do).
Also, if you like seeing The Coathangers filmed in the desert, maybe also go see them perform in the desert when they play Desert Daze in Joshua Tree next month.
And don’t forget that the band’s recent, awesome album, Nosebleed Weekend, is available now.
