Gadzooks! If anything could visually approximate the listening experience of this latest FRKWYS release from RVNG Intl., look no further! FRKWYS Vol. 15: serenitatem features the combination of Portland, OR’s Visible Cloaks plus Japanese avant-garde legends Yoshio Ojima and Satsuki Shibano. While we’re highlighting one video right here, let me just say that the whole thing makes for a deeply soothing yet mind altering excursion.
The video, for the brief “Anata,” directed by Cloaks’ Spencer Doran, features simple pans of what appears to be a factory (?) and a well maintained courtyard. It ain’t complicated, and I don’t really know what it means, but that’s not to say I’m not hypnotized by what I see. Free your mind and tune in. There’s a lot to unpack, but also maybe it’s best to let the images wash over you, and calm your over analytic mind.
