Another Sasquatch! has come and gone, and we are now looking back, remembering our favorite moments from the four-day adventure. Festivals are full of moments, and that’s why we love them. When the lineup first gets released, we text our bffs and say “OMG we are SO going this year!” Then when tickets go on sale, we cough up the big bucks because we know it’s going to be fucking epic. We put up with the bullshit prices of food and beverages, as well as the grueling climb in and out of the gorge to run from band to band, as if we were all suffering from FOMO.
This year was no less memorable. Four days packs in a lot of moments, like when John C. Riley came out to introduce Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, confusing and exciting us all, and then again when he came back as Dr. Steve Brule to introduce Major Lazer, making us further lose our shit. Or when The Cure came out, and Robert Smith sounded so good. Or when the wind was so bad that the main stage had to be shut down, forcing Leon Bridges to do an impromptu acoustic set on the lawn. How awesome was that? Remember the vendor who had a grease fire, and the whole tent went up in flames? And, speaking of flames, remember seeing the smoke from that wildfire burning right outside of the Gorge?
It makes all the hard work and crazy stuff worth it. It makes it easier to forget about our sunburns, blisters, and the ungodly amount of money we spend to GET those sunburns and blisters. The whole cycle will repeat itself again next year when tickets go on sale and the lineup is announced. We’ll go through it all again willingly, because we love music and we love the moments.
