You know, it has been a long time since I have been a real fan of a band. When I was somewhat younger I really liked the Eels, and well, you can probably predict this: when I got a little older and I met all the problems that a typical 18-year old has, Thom Yorke became my personal saviour.

Just over a year ago I met my new personal saviour: Dizzee Rascal, a 18-year old guy from East London  who released his masterpiece single "I Luv U" when he was only sixteen years old.

The first time I heard "I Luv U" was over a year ago. I was in a car with a few friends, we just came back from eating some fries and turned on the radio around 1 o'clock in the night and those unbelievable beats came from the sound system. Really, I understood why gangsta rappers need a lowrider with hydraulics to shake the car up and down.

A year passed, I downloaded "I Luv U" and played it endlessly, everywhere. I bored classmates to death by playing it ten times in a row. It didn’t bore me. There is not a single song that I can play ten times in a row. Even if I hear "Paranoid Android" two times it bores me.

Well, and now we got the full album. 57 minutes and 16 seconds of that same, pure insanity that "I Luv U" had. 57 minutes and 16 seconds that chronicle the day-to-day life in the criminal neighbourhoods of East-London to perfection. Should I phone you up in person and tell you that you should get this album? Take this from me: Boy In Da Corner is the first real musical discovery of 2003.
