Apache Dropout drops in with new album, Magnetic Heads

Well, not exactly a new album. The Bloomington, Indiana trio is prepping an archival release, Magnetic Heads, due February 5. on Family Vineyard.

Rawer and bleaker than last year’s Bubblegum Graveyard, the 10-track album is a combination of two of their early cassette releases, 2008’s Cha Cha Cha and 2009’s Lysergic Caveman Choogle: Not for Pigs, originally released on Magnetic South Recordings. The songs are drenched in fuzz and echo with the occasional fiddle (!?) accompaniment. Check out the album’s opening track (which is also a helpful piece of advice), “Don’t Trust Banks,” below.

Magnetic Heads tracklist:

01. Don’t Trust Banks
02. Eyes Wide Open
03. Memphis, Tennessee
04. Taj Mahal
05. On The Beat
06. Put a Moth On It
07. Mary Don’t You Weep
08. Devil Story
09. I’m So Glad
10. Exaltation of the Guru in the Natural Harmonic Series
