Avant guitar legend Loren Connors to release live album on Family Vineyard

Hey! Clear your “rehearsal schedule” and SOBER UP, Eddie Van Halen fanboy. First of all: NO, he still won’t play in your band or star in your triumphant music video. It’s just not going to happen. Secondly, and more importantly: on September 18, another, possibly even more legit-ass avant-guitar mastermind Loren Connors is fixin’ to release Live In New York all up into your bloated, sweaty FACES on September 18 via the Family Vineyard label. And you’re gonna need to cut a heck of a lot of lawns between now and then to earn enough scratch to buy a copy.

The album, which features a “cinéma vérité quality” rendering of two performances that took place six days apart back in November 2014 and “builds upon the vision captured on his last studio album, 2011’s ”>Red Mars, [in which] transparent, ghostly notes slowly unravel against a canvas of black drones and funeral tolls,” is available for CD and digital pre-orders right now on the Family Vineyard site. It’s gonna be awesome, and the CD version even comes all done-up special “in a Stoughton miniaturized ‘LP’ sleeve with metallic ink and an insert,” with cover art by Connors himself.

Check out one of the tracks, “Webster Hall, Part 2” (as well as an album trailer) down below. And then get the hell off the couch and start heaving-ho, my friend. Time’s a-wastin’.
