Belgian producer Obsequies announces debut EP Organn on Knives, premieres new track "Languish"

Knives — the record label co-founded by the great Kuedo — has, in its relatively brief time on this planet, established itself as a dependable home for far-reaching electronic music. Since 2015 alone, they dropped massive releases from the likes of Jlin, J. G. Biberkopf, and more — and with such a wildly good track record behind them, a new Knives release is always something worth exploring.

So, explore away: the newest gem soon to be unearthed from the Kinves mine is the debut album from Belgian producer Obsequies. A muggy trip of monochrome surrealism and dead-VHS scuzz, Organn is a bleak but lovable record whose ambition stacks up well alongside its labelmates. Open your mind and jump right into the pit with “Languish,” an album cut we have the perverse funereal pleasure of premiering for you today.

Organn will be released November 17 in digital and vinyl formats. Grab it from Knives…but don’t be an idiot and grab the handle-end, okay?
