Following the word-of-mouth success of his 2015 debut album for NNA Tapes Dance And, the smartly named, undeniably talented drumkit manipulator Booker Stardrum (Cloud Becomes Your Hand, Landlady, VaVatican) sets to widen his fan net still further with the release of his sophomore album, Temporary etc., on October 26.
Employing a skeletal orchestra which can include synths, go-go bells, mics, cowbells, singing bowls, and an expertly treated drumkit, Stardrum is an enthusiastic sound seeker who always brings the ultra-adventurous to everything he plays on, whether his own work or with others (Lee Renaldo, Weyes Blood, Sam Evian).
Temporary etc. is part of NNA Tapes’ LPX Series and, as such, is a limited deluxe affair. Engineered, produced, and mixed with Deerhoof’s John Dieterich, the album comes as a limited white vinyl LP (first 100 copies will be pressed on a first-come, first-served custom colored vinyl) with unique packaging, using “locally-sourced manufacturers and small businesses from our hometown of Burlington, Vermont USA.”
