Boredoms bring mystery, chaos, and Boadrum to London and Japan, with drummers from Ponytail, Hella, Oneida, and more

In London Town, mysterious forces are aligning. Legendary Japanese freakout group Boredoms are about to play… but how many drummers will be performing with them? For lo: this is to be a performance of Boadrum, the epic multi-drummer performance that has previously gone down as 77 Boadrum in Brooklyn (with 77 drummers) back in 07, 88 Boadrum in Brooklyn and LA in 08 (with 88 drummers), and Boadrum 9 in Brooklyn (with nine drummers). So how many drummers will appear in London in 2010? 10? 100? Behold! The all-star drummer lineup has been announced below:

• Eye
• Yoshimi
• Yo2ro
• Hisham Bharoocha (Soft Circle/ex-Black Dice!)
• Zach Hill (Hella!)
• Butchy Fuego (Pit Er Pat!)
• Kid Millions (Oneida!)
• Jeremy Hyman (Ponytail!)
• Shinji Masuko (DMBQ!)

Yeah, that’s right: it’s a veritable who’s who of indie drummers. Bravo, Boredoms, bravo! Boadrum will appear in this very special incarnation as part of the Matt Groening-curated All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in Minehead, before moving on to London and then to Japan. With a wall of sound this intense, that Icelandic volcano is gonna be suffering from some serious radness envy.
