Calexico is going on tour, brings sweet misery of the desert to several less inherently miserable areas

Well, son of a bitch. Just when I thought I’d never have to LEARN ANYTHING NEW about music or musicians ever again (a dream of mine), danged if those dusty Tucson, Arizona mumblers in Calexico have has just announced some additional tour dates for this fall! Man. Now I have to think about all KINDS of words and numbers and names and facts and bullet points and stuff. Ugh. Okay, I’d better pause my She-Ra DVD and put on another pot of chicory!

You may remember back in April when the band released Edge of the Sun on the ANTI- label? Well, turns out… after you put an album out… you kinda gotta tour the ever-loving crap out of the thing for like a thousand years or something. And COINCIDENTALLY, their press release informs me that the band recently “created a stir with the release of the imaginative video” for their song from the aforementioned new album “Falling From The Sky,” which totally features singer-songwriter José González and, ya know, a giant worm, so I guess they’re kinda touring on that too? Hey. whatever gets the butts in them seats. Don’t worry. I’ll stick the video down below.

“I wanted to make it more like a living thing, like an evolutionary side step, a creature that is stuck in its codependency and has rather few possibilities in this world but still has the capacity to dream of better things,” the video’s Director Karlsson explains. “I also had the idea that I wanted to make a two part video on the same story and tell it from two different perspectives.” Yeah, okay. My BRAIN is LITERALLY EXPLODING from having to take in all this new information about stuff. I hate this. I hate music. I hate everything.
