Cross Record announces new album on Ba Da Bing, shares single and tour dates

Hey there, fellow dreamy art pop disciples. First of all: don’t be cross with me that I got my wires a little crossed and didn’t let you know until just now that Cross Record — a.k.a. Emily Cross — is releasing a new Cross Record record later this summer and criss-crossing the country this fall.

Second of all: don’t worry, I’m not going to keep that horrible shtick up for the rest of this article.

Third of all: yeah! So: the self-titled Cross Record album is coming August 2 via Ba Da Bing — and to celebrate, Emily has just released the album’s dreamy, poppy, dreampoppy second single, “The Fly” (which follows the first single “PYSOL My Castle”); a song which “considers the resilience of the mind when teetering on the edge.”

And in the spirit of keepin’ things light: she has also just announced a run of US tour dates, as well as a series of living funeral ceremonies: three hour “experiences” in which “participants are faced with their own memorial, are told to write their last words, and then are lead through a death visualization.” So…if you’ve been looking for a reminder that “shit could be worse,” pay attention to those dates down below!

In conclusion: pre-order the album from Ba Da Bing here, and then, get hypnotized into not losing the shit out of your shit by checking out the lyric video for “The Fly” down below:
