I’ve got to give it to Crystal Castles; they’ve managed to stay controversy-free for some time now. Alice Glass and Ethan Kath have made it through this year so far without punching anybody or accusing anyone of gear theft or getting tangled up in copyright infringement suits. Three cheers for them, I think! But touring does tend to put their controversy avoidance to the test, so we’ll see how it goes when they tour the US throughout August and September. They’ll be supporting their recently released self-titled album (follow up to 2008’s self-titled album), which also manages to be fairly uncontroversial. Unless, of course, you loathe bands having more than one self-titled record, but you’re probably too busy trying to fight Weezer anyway.
