Dead Meadow to release their Peel Sessions while John Peel is still dead

Good news today for fans of Dead Meadow and those types of people who collect Peel Sessions like baseball cards, as Dead Meadow have announced that they will be releasing the sessions they did for John Peel on May 10 via Xemu Recordings.

Recorded in 2000, the six-song sessions were the first Peel Sessions that legendary DJ John Peel allowed to be recorded outside of the UK. “At the time we had no money and no tour to head to the UK but John Peel really wanted us on his show,” explains bassist Steven Kille. “He allowed us to record locally and since we were all good friends with Fugazi while living in DC we tracked the songs on reel-to-reel tape at their practice space in Arlington, VA.” Besides the six songs recorded for Peel, the CD will also include acoustic versions of “White Worm” and “Golden Cloud,” which were recorded at the same time but in seperate sessions.

In continuing sad news, John Peel remains dead while pop music slowly decays from within and great bands die due to lack of exposure.

Peel Sessions tracklist:

01. Dusty Nothing
02. Good Moanin’
03. The Boot
04. Indian Bones
05. Drifting Down Streams
06. Breeze Always Blows
07. White Worm
08. Golden Cloud
