Following on the heels of his occasionally Caribbean-inspired album VIEWS, Drake has added a Caribana party to his seven-years-running OVO Fest in Toronto, to coincide with that city’s enormous celebration of Caribbean culture on July 30. The party will feature dancehall stars Machel Montano and Beenie Man, the latter of whom had a brief cameo on VIEWS.
OVO Fest proper kicks off the night before, with Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa sharing headline duties, along with killer openers Kevin Gates and Jhene Aiko. After Caribana concludes, Drake and Future will present two nights of “Summer Sixteen” performances, on Sunday July 31 and Monday August 1. OVO affiliates dvsn and Roy Woods are set to join the festivities, and more likely than a few “special guests” will make appearances as well.
