Damn. Being witty, urbane, personal, and distant in your art all at the same time sounds like hard work. That’s probably why bittersweet, folk-rocky, New York-based singer/songwriter Greta “Frankie Cosmos” Cline keeps running all over god’s green earth kicking ass in 2016. Having already released her “critically acclaimed” Next Thing album earlier this year via the Bayonet label and subsequently toured the crap out of it, Kline has already turned her attention to the, ya know, “next thing.” She and her band are basically turning right back around to do it all again this week, hitting just about every country in the world that I can bother to readily recall in one sitting (again, though: I’m admittedly way less interested in working hard at things than Kline is).

She also just released a new video for the Next Thing track “Sinister”, which was created by friend and video artist Eliza Doyle, who “had been working with Don Martone (the bodybuilder) on a movie called True Barbarian and she thought he’d make a good alter-ego for Frankie.” Fair… enough? “I relate to the idea because for me it’s about having very different sides to myself, and needing those different personas to accept each other / co-exist,” Kline says. Fair… enough! Check out the video and forever’s-worth of tour dates down below. Better hurry too, cuz she’ll probably be on to the “next thing” again before you know it.
