After the considerable success of The Midnight Organ Fight (TMT Review), Scottish jangle poppers Frightened Rabbit are at it again with: a) an upcoming album due out March 9 on FatCat; b) an appearance at this year’s Coachella festival; and c) a spring tour, with SXSW dates included. So pack your bags, grab your southern-fried rotisserie (or bathing suit if you’re Coachella-bound) and get ready for some seriously well-arranged and heartfelt angst. The Winter of Mixed Drinks is Frightened Rabbit’s third full-length LP, and is sure to be the centerpiece of their Coachella performance, not to mention the lengthy tour to follow. And if I know Frightened Rabbit’s career progression, I’m sure we can expect impressive things from the boys — on the album, but even more so live.
