Somewhere out in this crazy world of ours (Boston) is a psych-rock band named after a device ostensibly used to communicate with the dead. That device is called a ghost box, and the band in question is Ghost Box Orchestra. What a world! Comprised of Jeremy Lassetter (guitar/vocals), Nazli Green (keyboard/percussion), Chris Johnson (guitar), Martin Rex (drums), and special touring bassist Zac McGowan, the group has rocked the main stage at Austin’s Psychfest and played alongside such underground garage/psych heavy-hitters as Wooden Shjips, Psychic Ills, The Growlers, Disappears, Moon Duo ,and The Fresh & Onlys. Shake your heads in awe, mortal humans, because this band came straight out of Scary Heaven. They’re a warlock’s wet dream. And now the magickal minstrels of Ghost Box Orchestra have a new album set to drop May 14. Entitled Vanished, the eight-track LP was recorded in a former Freemasons Lodge. OF COURSE IT WAS.
Last week in Northampton, MA, Ghost Box Orchestra kicked off a slew of East Coast dates to promote Vanished, their second full-length, and there are still some dates left!
