Gobby to drop single ft. remixes by Dean Blunt and Earthly, preps new Monkeybone release on DFA

Off-the-wall producer Gobby, whose deranged tunes have soundtracked many a harrowing psychotropic episode, is prepping a new free album for release on DFA Records under his Monkeybone moniker, titled Rocks Paper Fuck You. Judging by his previous work as Monkeybone (particularly last year’s The Roommate), fans can expect edgy, grimy techno workouts, perfect for your latest sewer rave or lockjaw convenience store robbery.

In addition to the Monkeybone release, Gobby has also just released another new video from his new album No Mercy Bad Poet, this time for “Hometown,” a vocoder-laced confection of swirling psych-hop. The track will be released as a digital-only single that also features Gobby remixes by Dean Blunt and noise crew Earthly.

TMT has the pleasure of premiering “Hometown’s” charmingly lo-fi video by Elliot Kaufman, who also directed Gobby’s recent “Anti-Meme” video. Check it out below, and look for more info on both the Monkeybone album and the Gobby single soon.
