Her Space Holiday break up and announce final album; devout fans contemplate starting glitch-pop bands in tribute

College radio DJs, black-framed glasses wearers, lovers of glitchy pop music: you might want to sit down before you read the rest of this news story. Ready? Okay. Her Space Holiday, a.k.a. the long-running project of Marc Bianchi, has decided to call it quits. Wait, wait, where are you going? Just sit down, it’s going to be okay. It’s not over just yet.

Her Space Holiday will release their final album, a self-titled affair, on August 16 via Bianchi’s own No More Good Ideas imprint. The new album was recorded inside a 150-year-old farmhouse in Bastrop, Texas, and features many of Bianchi’s musical peers, including members of Mice Parade, Via Tania, and Indian Summer. Deep breath, deep breath. See, everything will be okay. And who knows, maybe he’ll even decide to go on a final tour!
