Bad news for fans of James Blake in the states of Texas, Louisiana, and Tennessee. According to our bros at p4k, Blake is postponing those October/November dates in order to fly to jolly ‘ol Engerland. Blake’s album Overgrown (TMT Review) has been nominated for the Mercury Prize, so he’ll be in London to attend the October 30 ceremony.
Blake writes on his Facebook page, “[Our] sincere apologies to those who bought tickets. Refunds are available and existing tickets are valid for the rescheduled dates TBA.” Expect the new dates to be some time in 2014 because, as you can see below, Blake is pretty busy for the rest of the year. He deserves a break.
